Canto Hackathon Winners Interview Series: SinSwap

In our Canto Hackathon winners interview series, we spoke with the founding team at SinSwap, who call themselves the Stripe of crypto.

TLDR; SinSwap was built to help simplify the onboarding process for all users interested in Canto. Their cross-chain payments aggregation engine lets you buy into emerging blockchain communities and start using dApps with just one click. The team’s initial goal is to reach $1 million in transaction volume, starting with the launch of a points program and the integration of multiple bridging solutions. Right now, the team is looking for help to get their product to market and build their community, as they believe it will be the most beneficial for them in the long run.

This is the final interview of the series featuring the winners of the Canto Online Hackathon. Curious to know more about the other hackathon winners? Check out their interviews here.

Interview with SinSwap

Q1: Can you introduce yourselves and tell us about your background and what drew you to Canto?

Mohit, Rohan, and Sanchit are all software engineers, and Mohit is the lead developer for this project. Mohit has been hacking in web3 for over three years, having participated in and won several hackathons globally. We were drawn to Canto because it promises high-speed and low-transaction-cost processing. We all come from a web2 background where speed and efficiency are the norm, and we love that Canto is trying to bring the same user experience to web3.

Q2: Can you walk us through SinSwap and explain what problem it aims to solve?

Being part of the Canto community, we observed that one challenge a lot of new users faced is that of onboarding to Canto easily. Whether it is advanced web3 users who want the most efficient and fast way of bridging tokens from other chains into Canto or newer users who may want to buy into the promise of Canto via Fiat payment methods, both have to run through hoops in order to even get into the Canto ecosystem. We saw an opportunity to solve this problem. We are building SinSwap to become the destination of choice for users who want to onboard into Canto and start using dApps in 1 click. We have started with easy bridging from other popular chains and even on ramping through Fiat, and soon we want to also integrate stacking and other exciting features so that end to end transaction flows can all be achieved in 1 click.

Q3: How did participating in the Canto Hackathon help you grow as developers?

We loved working with the Canto Hackathon team. There was a ton of support and guidance from the community and we really got critical feedback on our presentation and communication skills, which will help us grow our project and community.

Q4: What are the next steps for your project? Are there any specific goals or milestones you’re aiming to achieve in the near future?

Our first milestone is to drive $1m in transaction volume through SinSwap. To achieve this our immediate goals are to launch our points program and add multiple bridging solutions. This will make the product far more easily usable.

Q5: What kind of support or resources would be most helpful for you as you continue to develop and go-to-market?

Help with GTM and community building would be the most valuable for us going forward.

Q6: How do you see your project fitting into the broader ecosystem of Canto and the blockchain/developer community?

We see ourselves as the Stripe for crypto. We want to be the preferred destination for users to find exciting new tokens/assets and opportunities on Canto, and be able to buy into them very easily.

Q7: Do you have any advice for other developers who are considering working on projects in the Canto ecosystem?

Get in early and take advantage of the Canto team's willingness to help.
